Bruce W. Tuckman, Ph.D (1938-2016)
A Fellow of the American Psychological Association and Inaugural Fellow of the American Educational Research Association, Dr. Tuckman was founding director of the Dennis Learning Center and professor of Educational Psychology at The Ohio State University. His scholarly interests focused on motivation and cognitive processes and their application in the form of learning and motivation strategies for achievement. He was well known for his work on procrastination and methods to overcome it, as well as for his theory of group development stages: “forming, storming, norming, and performing.” He also authored a number of textbooks, including Conducting Educational Research, Theories and Applications of Educational Psychology, and Learning and Motivation Strategies: Your Guide to Success.
His family established the Bruce W. Tuckman Student Enrichment Fund in his memory.
