All the rules, assignments and grading requirements for the course are set forth in the Syllabus The course has several important deadlines every week.  There is a Course Calendar that shows what you should be working on every week and when all assignments are due.  Most students find it helpful to print the Course Calendar so that they can refer to it regularly.  There are two course textbooks, Learning and Motivation Strategies and A Hope in the Unseen.  These must be purchased immediately.

There are three types of assigments for this course.  You will write two-page papers, called Portfolios, weekly.  Directions for the Portfolios are found at the Portfolios link.  You will submit the Portfolios to your instructor as WORD documents, attached to an e-mail.  You will also do weekly sets of computerized assignments, called Modules, which you will access through the Gradebook link, then the Course Sorcerer link, using your OSU user name and password.  Your work in the Modules is done directly on the computer.  Finally, from time to time you will make postings in online Discussions, which are accessed through the Discussions link.  The Course Calendar and the Syllabus each give you the due dates for all assignments.

Your instructor will communicate with you several times a week by e-mail.  These e-mails, which will be posted on the website after they are sent, will contain important information.  Your instructor will also return your graded Portfolios by e-mail.  Thus, maintaining regular e-mail access, including making sure your e-mail box is not full, is critical to the course.

Students who have taken this course do better in school than students who have not.  Good luck, and enjoy Ed P & L 259D!
