Hello Everyone,

Portfolio 4

Much of what we teach in this course is designed to help you control your
thoughts and reduce the impact of our emotions.  Emotions can't be
controlled directly.  Thoughts can be controlled directly.  Emotions can't.
We must adjust our thoughts or behaviors to control them.

The purpose of Portfolio 4 is to help you realize that you have controlled
your thoughts and reduced the impact of emotions  successfully in the past
and are therefore capable of doing the same things in the future.  Before
beginning to write about your academic success story, you may want to take a
look at Figure 4.1 in your Learning and Motivation Strategies Text.  Also
review the four techniques for building self-confidence.  I'm sure you'll
recoginize that you use these techniques when you are successful even though
you might not have called them by the same names.
