High School Implementation Checklist

complete the following checklist and e-mail the results to:

q Identify two working contact persons within the school to aid in implementation activities (one of these persons must be the appropriate grade level guidance counselor and another and will take responsibility for implementation).
q Identify your courseware platform. You must have access to Angel, WebCT or Blackboard to implement the course. You may want to check with your technology staff to see if you are using one of these platforms.
q Establish
an agreement with your district
curriculum office to provide students taking the course with ½ H.S. credit.
q Identify the academic term
you will begin offering the course.
q Identify an instructor who is willing and able to teach the course (this instructor must be reasonably comfortable with computer technology, proficient with the platform the course will be ran on and committed to the program’s objectives.
q Identify a dedicated computer lab with a
minimum of 15 terminals (for four hrs/week, one semester) with a 1:1 ratio of
students to terminals.
q Begin recruitment efforts to assure that at least 15-20 students will be enrolled in each section of the course.
q Purchase the two required texts for the class.

q Establish a date for instructor training.

instructors to use to facilitate and supplement
instruction and instructional software
(since this course includes both live and computer-
mediated instruction).
Availability by phone, faxes, and emails to
answer questions and offer advice.
